Proverbs 1:10, 15: My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent. My son, do not walk in the way with them, Keep your foot from their path.

Insight

The father tells his son how to avoid yielding to temptation. First, he says, check carefully the path you’re on and don’t walk with the wrong crowd. If you’re walking with the wrong crowd, you’ll end up doing the wrong things. 1

Application

The evidence of a blessed life is not found in the showcase of earthly possessions. A blessed life is found in making God-honoring decisions that build up the Body of Christ and bring glory to God. Examine your spiritual walk. Are your footprints trespassing down a sinful path or are your footprints clearly on the road of righteous living? Are sinners influencing you with worldliness, or are you influencing them with the gospel? Do your friends represent the reputation you desire to have?

Motivation

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

The world will pull you into darkness, but the Word will release you into the light. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, please light the path before me, and please help me to choose my friends wisely.
