Proverbs 30:28: The spider skillfully grasps with its hands, and it is in kings’ palaces.

Insight

The Hebrew word for “spider” refers to a little house lizard. “The lizard you can not catch with the hand and yet it is in kings’ palaces.” Somehow or other it can work its way into houses, and it has an affinity for fine tapestry and palatial mansions. It has fanlike feet which exude a sticky substance so that the lizard can actually hold onto a marble wall or a tessellated ceiling. This teaches us about faith, the kind of faith that takes hold of the promises of God. It is the faith that enters into the very heavenly places. It lays hold of the fact that the Spirit of God Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the sons of God. 1

Application

I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. 2 Timothy 1:12

How has God demonstrated His faithfulness to you over this last week? How has He encouraged your prayer life? How have the promises of God strengthened your faith?

Motivation

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

Even when you feel that you can not go any further, His grace will carry you to the finish line. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, thank You for keeping all Your promises, even when I do not keep mine.
