Godly Encouragement for Daily Living

A PROMISE

You ran well.
Who hindered you
from obeying the truth?
This persuasion does not come
from Him who calls you.
A little leaven
leavens the whole lump.
Galatians 5:7–9

A Prayer

Heavenly Father…
Thank You for putting me into the race.
Living the Christian life is often compared
to a long distance race.
You train hard to win.
The competition is against yourself, not others.
You must play by the rules.
When I violate God’s word, I hinder my race.
Disobedience is a personal foul.
It can cause me to become disqualified.
It only takes a few unrepentant sins to ruin an athlete.
Teach me how to flee temptations and to stay in my race.
In Jesus Name. Amen.
