Revelation 2:29: “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Jesus and His Word

The conclusion of this message, is with a call to universal attention, that all men, all the world, should hear what passes between Christ and his churches-how he commends them, how he comforts them, how he reproves their failures, how he rewards their fidelity. It concerns all the inhabitants of the world to observe God’s dealings with his own people; all the world may learn instruction and wisdom thereby. 1

Jesus and His Ways

  • Jesus, please teach me to listen and obey the wise council from Your word. – “Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days.” Proverbs 19:20
  • Jesus, please teach me to speak less and listen more to You. – “While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” Matthew 17:5
  • Jesus, please teach me to hear Your word, then pray, wait and watch with great anticipation for how You will reveal Your faithfulness in answering every situation in my life. – “Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.” Proverbs 8:34
