Proverbs 31:22: She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

Insight

Typically, the fine linen and purple picture, as in the tabernacle hangings, practical righteousness and royal glory. In the rich man referred to above, we see how one could be outwardly covered with what spoke of uprightness and privilege, while actually “poor, and wretched, and blind, and miserable, and naked.” The virtuous wife is robed in what bespeaks her true character and dignity. 1

Application

Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel—rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. 1 Peter 3:3–4

The best we can offer, is a heart set apart to do the will of our Father. Wear the covering of His grace over your mind and over your unpleasant memories of the past. Wear the armor of God to cover your heart and prepare each day for the unexpected battles. Learn to follow Him in the battlefield. Expect the victory that He will provide. Rejoice over the character of His life that He is forging in you.

Motivation

Now it happened on the third day that Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the king’s palace, across from the king’s house. Esther 5:1

We can get all dressed up with no place to go when our hope is placed in others, and not in the Lord. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, thank You for dressing me up in Your loving grace and Your robe of righteousness.
