Jesus is Essential

John 2:6–8: Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.

We are full of health; money increases; friends multiply; we have an abundance to eat, plenty to drink, and a warm place to sleep. But somehow the wine fails, and life loses its sparkle. It can happen in the teenage years. It is epidemic in the college years. It is endemic to the middle years. And ultimately it catches everyone. That is what makes this miracle so important. Every one of us will find that if the exhilarations of life are our focus, failure is inevitable. Many settle for “gray days,” clench their fists, and determine to go on with life. Others become bitter and sour. Some fight. Some give up all hope. All need the joy of knowing Jesus. 1

Walking with Jesus

Notice how much Jesus cares about the practical things of life. Jesus does not want you to talk with Him just about the “big” things you are facing. He wants to be involved in every area of your life. What is insignificant to you is important to Him. Ask Him today for His guidance over the small things and the big things you are facing.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6

There are no big and small request. All request are equally important to Him. – TWEET IT

Praying

Lord, thank you for taking all my worries and anxieties, and for giving me Your peace.
