Godly Encouragement for Daily Living

A PROMISE

For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren,
of our trouble which came to us in Asia:
that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength,
so that we despaired even of life.
Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves,
that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead,
who delivered us from so great a death,
and does deliver us;
in whom we trust that He will still deliver us,
2 Corinthians 1:8–10

A Prayer

Heavenly Father…
Thank You for rescuing us, again and again.
You are The Great Deliverer.
You know all about the dark desperation Your children experience.
Following You can be very dangerous.
There can be life-threatening situations.
There are often burdens beyond our capacity to cope.
But You are the light in the darkness.
Your whisper becomes like a shout: “Trust Me!”
If I die, You will raise me up to everlasting life.
If I live, You will be glorified in my testimony of Your great deliverance.
In Jesus Name. Amen.
