Godly Encouragement for Daily Living

A PROMISE

“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh.”
This is a great mystery,
but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Nevertheless let each one of you in particular
so love his own wife as himself,
and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
Ephesians 5:31–33

A Prayer

Heavenly Father…
Thank You for the gift of Your church.
Thank You for the gift of marriage.
Thank You for teaching us how to love the Body of Christ.
Thank You for teaching us how to love our spouse.
Thank You for instructing the husband to love his wife…
…just as Christ has loved His church.
Thank You for instructing the wife to love her husband…
…by respecting God’s ordained leadership in the home.
Thank You for the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace.
Thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit…
…in all our relationships.
In Jesus Name. Amen.
