FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 16:6: Greet Mary, who labored much for us.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

Mary is a Jewish name, the same as Miriam, meaning “rebelliousness.” She “bestowed much labour on us” means that she labored to the point of exhaustion. What a change had taken place in her life! Before becoming a believer, she was in rebellion, but now she “knocks herself out” for the sake of other believers, because she is now obedient to Christ. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

Your name has changed to Christian, meaning a follower of Christ. Do you live out your new name? Read Philippians 3:13-14. Do you laborer to the point of exhaustion for others, without complaining?

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

Jesus is the name above all names that we should exalt through our labor of love for others. – TWEET IT

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

Lord, teach me to live up to the new name You gave me: Christian!
