FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 14:9–10: For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

One of the reasons for the Lord Jesus’ redemptive death and resurrection is to be the Lord of both the dead and the living. Since Jesus is the Lord, Christians should not judge or … look down on (“despise” or “reject with contempt”) one another, their brothers, in such matters. One Christian is not above another as his judge; all are equally under Christ, the Judge. As Lord, Jesus will one day review and evaluate the ministry of His servants at His judgment seat. Paul affirmed the certainty of this event by quoting Isaiah 49:18 and 45:23, pertaining to everyone standing before Christ and confessing Him as Lord. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:10

There is an accountability now and an accountability then. It is best to live correctly now.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

He is either Lord of all, or Lord not at all. – TWEET IT

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:10–11

Dear Father, I humbly bow my heart before Your throne of grace and ask Your forgiveness for my sins, and I confess You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for Your grace!
