Revelation 3:20b: Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door.
Jesus and His Word
This is the picture of Christ we have in Revelation. He stands at the door and knocks. He will not crash the door. Regardless of what some extremists say on this matter of election, the Lord Jesus will get to the door of your heart, but when He gets there, He will stop and knock. You will have to open the door to let Him in. 1
Jesus and His Ways
For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:11–13
Jesus, thank You for giving me a choice. Will I respond to Your Knock? Will I open the door of my heart? Will I call upon Your name for salvation? It was Your loving grace that drew me, and it was Your crucified blood that slayed me. I collapsed under the fountain of Your abundant mercy. You were the One that I had been waiting for all my life. But I had to be broken over my sin and my rebellion against Your truth. Then my ears were finally open to hear Your knock. I opened the door, and received Your forgiveness and Your welcoming fellowship.

Jesus and His Promise
“Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately.” Luke 12:35–36
