Revelation 2:19: “I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first.

Jesus and His Word

Christ has six words of commendation for the church in Thyatira:

#1. “Works” were the credentials of real believers. There were many who lived spotless lives and by their good works “adorned the doctrine.” Their works were increasing and characterized by faith, love, and patience; so the church was not guilty of mere “religious activity.” 1

Jesus and His Ways

Jesus is blessed by the motivation behind our perspiration.

  1. We belong to Him
  2. Our life reflects His creative genius
  3. He redeemed us for His divine purposes
  4. He prepares us first
  5. Then He reveals each custom made assignment
  6. Then He takes us through every assignment, one step at a time

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

Jesus and His Promise

“Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:12-13
