Revelation 2:23: I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.

Jesus and His Word

“Children” are those who were brought up under this system. “Let them be put to death with death,” referring to the second death. “All the churches” refers to the church of all the ages. “The mind” is our thoughts, feelings, and purposes. When He searches the mind and the hearts, it means that He searches our entire beings. 1

Jesus and His Ways

  • Jesus, please allow Your eyes, which are like a flame of fire, to purify my heart for Your glorious purposes. – “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
  • Jesus, please allow Your holy presence to make me wholly accountable to You. – “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.“ Hebrews 4:13
  • Jesus, please allow me to become Your loyal servant, serving You without any carnal compromise. – “As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever. 1 Chronicles 28:9

Jesus and His Promise

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, and not according to Christ. Colossians 2:8
