Revelation 3:13: “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Jesus and His Word

The letter closed with the familiar appeal, hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The promise given to the Philadelphia church and the challenge to continue to be faithful is certainly God’s Word to His whole church today. 1

Jesus and His Ways

  • Jesus, thank You for Your faithfulness to all people, in every generation. Teach me more about being faithful, regardless of how I am feeling. – “Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides.” Psalm 119:90
  • Jesus, thank You for Your steadfast faithfulness and lovingkindness. Teach me how to show more of Your unconditional love to others. – “Nevertheless My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him, Nor allow My faithfulness to fail.” Psalm 89:33
  • Jesus, thank You for the faithful provision of Your death on the cross. Teach me to come humble and broken, in sorrowful repentance, and receive Your faithful forgiveness for all my sins. – “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

Jesus and His Promise

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22–23
