Psalm 139:14: I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

The science of anatomy was quite unknown to the psalmist, and yet he had seen enough to arouse his admiration of the work and his reverence for the Worker. He was made to know the marvelous nature of God’s work with assurance and accuracy, for he had found by experience that the Lord is a master-worker, performing impossible to copy, wonders when accomplishing his kind designs. What shall we not say of that new birth which is even more mysterious than the first, and exhibits even more the love and wisdom of the Lord? 1

Living the Transformed Life

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:27

  • Praise God now for how unique you are made in His image. – Who does great things, and unsearchable, marvelous things without number. Job 5:9
  • Praise God now, just like those who are in heaven are praising Him. – They sing the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints! Revelation 15:3
  • Praise God now for all the evidence He left in His creation for you to observe, and for you to give Him glory. – The works of the Lord are great, studied by all who have pleasure in them. Psalm 111:2

When we marvel at His creation, we should bow in humble adoration. – TWEET IT

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for making me in your image and redeeming me by your blood. Dear Jesus, please teach me more about You, through the wonder of Your creation.
