Proverbs 29:2: When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.

Insight

We’ve seen before that when the wicked are in power, they never solve the problem, but one righteous man is able to bring blessing to a nation. That is what we need in this nation of ours above everything else. We don’t need men who say they have solutions for every problem. No one has the solutions for the problems of this world, and if anyone says he does, he must say it with his tongue in his cheek. What we need today are righteous men who will stand for the right at any price. I believe just one such man is better than a whole party, regardless of what party it might be.

When the wicked rule, everyone suffers. Incidentally, for whom did you vote? 1

Application

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Jeremiah 23:5–6

There is a coming King and Kingdom. Let that truth govern your heart, and your attitude, your will, and your actions everyday…until that coming day.

Motivation

When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. Proverbs 11:10

We vote everyday for righteous living, when we choose His Lordship to rule our lives. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, thank You for overruling the rulers with Your grace and truth. You rule me.
