Proverbs 31:17: She girds herself with strength, and strengthens her arms.

Insight

The girding of the loins for service may well remind us of that subjection to the truth of God which ever marks out the devoted soul; for it is with the truth the loins are to be girded; and this both for strength and fitness to take up the daily tasks. No believer can render proper service unless the loins of the mind are thus controlled by the unerring word of the Lord. The virtuous woman girds her loose flowing garments tightly about her, drawing them up to leave the feet free, as she goes about her work, doing with her might what her hands find to do. 1

Application

Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:13

There is always the preparation before the work. How do you prepare yourself each day? There are the basic things like eat, and sleep, and shower. But what about the preparation of the soul? How do you prepare your heart, soul, and mind with the strength you need to fulfill your daily duties and responsibilities? Consider filling your mind with His words, and your heart with His love, and your actions with His grace. You can do this through the reading of His Word, prayer, and the infilling of His Holy Spirit.

Motivation

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Ephesians 6:10

Your strength does not come from your will, but from the well of your fellowship with Him. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, thank You for giving me all that I need to do Your work, Your way.
