Proverbs 31:29: Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.

Insight

While her husband, rejoicing in such a partner of his joys and sorrows, exclaims in honest praise, “Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excels them all!” He has found in her what the heart ever craves—one whose comeliness of soul and mind excel even beauty of face and form. May we not see in his admiration and delight a picture of the tender love with which our heavenly Bridegroom shall regard His Bride, the Church, when He presents her to Himself, in the soon-coming day of glory, “not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing!” 1

Application

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:23–24

Let God have His way in you. He is not looking for your performance. He just wants to have fellowship with you. It is His faithfulness that He wants you to receive. He will make you His treasure, if you let Him. When we surrender, we stop striving.

Motivation

Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. Colossians 1:28

Prayer

Father, thank You for carrying me to the place You had prepared for me, when I had no strength left in me.
