Jesus is Essential

Luke 24:22–27: Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see.” Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

He referred them to the Scriptures rather than to the nail prints. He told them, “You should have believed what the prophets said.” It is well to note the Lord’s attitude toward the Bible. The day in which we live is a day of doubt. There are people who are actually saying that you cannot be intelligent and believe the Bible. Many people are afraid that they will not be considered intelligent; so they don’t come out flat–footed and say whether they believe the Bible or not. I suppose it is the most subtle and satanic trap of our day to discount the inerrancy and integrity of the Word of God. Christ says a man is a fool not to believe it. 1

Walking with Jesus

Jesus is the Word. Jesus quotes from the Word. Jesus believes the Word. Jesus teaches from the Word. Jesus values the Word. Jesus validates the Word. How does His love for the Word challenge your commitment to His Word? Are you inspired to give 15 minutes each morning to hear from Him, as you read His Word?

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. John 5:39

When your heart is slow to believe the truth, it will be quick to believe the lie.

Praying

Lord, thank You for the absolute confidence that we can have in You and Your Word.
