Jesus is Essential

Luke 12:4–7: “And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him! “Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

The remedy for hypocrisy is to forget about what people may say and do and fear God alone. The fear of God is the fear that conquers all other fears, for the person who truly fears God need fear nothing else.

All that men can do is kill the body, but God can condemn the soul! Since He is the final Judge, and He judges for eternity, it is logical that we put the fear of God ahead of everything else. Our God knows us and cares for us. He cares for the sparrows, and we are of more value than they; so what do we have to fear from men? 1

Walking with Jesus

You no longer have to be intimidated or manipulated by others. When you know who you are in Christ, you no longer have to fear the unsought opinions of others. No one can steal away your relationship with Him. Your relationship is absolutely secure right now and for all eternity. It is time to live in the freedom of His unfailing love.

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15

Fearing God, with a holy fear, conquerors all other fears.

Praying

Lord, thank You for valuing me, despite all my flaws.
