Jesus is Essential

Luke 10:21–24: In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.

All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.” Then He turned to His disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see; for I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.”

Jesus was full of joy through the Holy Spirit. Luke frequently mentioned the Holy Spirit’s ministry in Jesus’ life. The three Persons of the Godhead are clearly seen: Jesus the Son was doing the Father’s will in the power of the Holy Spirit. Each had a specific function.

The people who were following Jesus were not considered the wise and learned. They had become like little children to enter into the kingdom, and thus they knew the Son and the Father. The disciples were living in an opportune day which many Old Testament prophets and kings longed to see—the day of the Messiah. 1

Walking with Jesus

Does your life display the joy of the Spirit? Why is that divine joy more powerful than the temporary happiness of this world? What things does a believer “see” that the unbeliever does not “see?”

Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you. 1 Peter 1:10

Live!…like we are living in the days before the return of the Messiah.

Praying

Lord, thank You for the daily revelation of Yourself, when I read Your Word.
