Jesus is Essential
Matthew 10:5–8: These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
These Apostles were given special power and authority from Christ to perform miracles. These miracles were a part of their “official credentials” (Acts 2:43; 5:12; 2 Cor. 12:12; Heb. 2:1–4).
They healed the sick (and note that this included all kinds of diseases), cleansed the lepers, cast out demons, and even raised the dead. These four ministries paralleled the miracles that Jesus performed in Matthew 8 and 9. In a definite way, the Apostles represented the King and extended His work. 1
Walking with Jesus
Think of all the miraculous works that God has done in your life. Now it is time for you to proclaim to others, and to speak to others about His faithfulness, and His continual love for them.
Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God,
and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” John 4:10
It is those who have been found that have been commissioned to reach the lost.

Lord, thank You for teaching me how to live freely, and give freely.
