Jesus is Essential

Matthew 7:24–25: Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

The man who builds his house upon the shifting foundation is likened to the person who hears Jesus’ words but who does not put them to practice. The man who builds his house upon the rock is likened to the person who not only hears Jesus’ words but also puts them into practice.

The difference between the two houses is therefore likened to the difference between obedience and disobedience. 1

Walking with Jesus

Every storm has a way of helping us evaluate our own home and the foundation upon which it stands. Does your life need to make any foundational repairs?

For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11

Discipleship: Once He builds His life in you, you can build His life in others.

Praying

Lord, thank You Lord for being my foundation for life, and for living.
