Godly Encouragement for Daily Living

A PROMISE

O wretched man that I am!
Who will deliver me from this body of death?
I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God,
but with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 7:24–25

A Prayer

Heavenly Father…
I am failing spiritually.
I do not want to do the things I am doing.
And I want to do the things that I am not doing.
I am proving that I am a wretched sinner.
The desires of my flesh are warring against my spirit.
I am calling out to You for help.
Teach me not to be bound under the demands of the law.
Teach me to rest in Your finished work on the cross.
Teach me how to walk in the spirit.
Teach me to rejoice in Your victory over sin.
Teach me to do Your will…
In the power of Your Spirit.
In Jesus Name. Amen.
