Psalm 132:9–10: Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, And let Your saints shout for joy. For Your servant David’s sake, Do not turn away the face of Your Anointed.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

The people’s prayer for the Lord to visit them was accompanied by their prayer that the priests be clothed with righteousness, that the saints sing for joy, and that the Lord not reject David, His anointed king. These verses were all a part of the people’s prayer when David established Zion as the center of God’s kingdom. 1

Living the Transformed Life

Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty. Psalm 104:1

  • Praise God – Your prayers for salvation have been answered: Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness.
  • Praise God – Your prayers for humility have been answered: 1 Peter 5:5 All of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
  • Praise God – Your prayers for mercy have been answered: Ezra 3:11 And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever.

If there are no prayers, you can be certain, that there will be no answers.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for listening to every prayer–and answering every prayer–according to Your will, and according to Your perfect time. Dear Jesus, teach me to pray continually, and with a no-compromise faith.
