1 Corinthians 10:7: And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”

An idol is anything in your life that you put in the place of God. 1

Application

  • Read Exodus 32:7-10. How serious is God when it comes to dealing with idols is your life?
  • To be stiff-necked is to be stubborn towards God. Stubbornness comes from loving yourself, other people, and things, more than loving the true and living God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. If your walk with God was audited by the Holy Spirit, would your account be sufficiently full or marked NSF (no sufficient funds)?
