Revelation 3:2: Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.
Jesus and His Word
In view of the fact that the Rapture could take place at any moment, the church is to be alert. The date is not set, nor even the period in which He will come, and the reason for that is that the church is to be constantly on the alert for His coming—“Looking for that blessed hope …” (Titus 2:13). You see, anyone can make ready for a fixed hour, but you must always be ready for an unexpected hour. The Lord Jesus is saying to be constantly on the alert. 1
Jesus and His Ways
- Jesus, please keep me watching and waiting for You, with great anticipation. Teach me more about living and dying, as a person of faith. – “Watch, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” Matthew 25:13
- Jesus, please keep me spiritually prepared, like a soldier ready for battle. Teach me more about putting on the armor of God, before I begin each day. – “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
- Jesus, please keep my heart in the right place with You. Teach me to serve You for the right reason and with the right motivation. – “You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting.” Daniel 5:27

Jesus and His Promise
“And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” Luke 22:31–32
