Proverbs 31:15: She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, and a portion for her maidservants.

Insight

It is only love that can render service like this sweet and delightful. So Paul could write of himself and his fellow-laborers as bondservants of Jesus Christ. This should be the Church’s happiness—to serve the living and true God, while waiting with eager expectancy for His Son from heaven. The wife here described serves in the consciousness of her true estate. So with the Christian. Service springs from the knowledge of an established relationship. Believers, on their part, having been reconciled to Him, serve in newness of the spirit, not in the oldness of the letter. Thus all uncertainty is gone, and willing hands work as a result of the power of Christ’s constraining love. 1

Application

I rise before the dawning of the morning, And cry for help; I hope in Your word, that I may meditate on Your word. Psalm 119:147–148

To be a Proverbs 31 woman is absolutely impossible without the daily help from the Lord. Consider taking more time before the day begins to receive more of His love and encouragement. It is His life in you and through you, that will daily sustain you.

Motivation

Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. Mark 1:35

To begin each day in prayer, and to end each day in prayer, is to acknowledge His Lordship and your dependency upon Him. – TWEET IT

Prayer

Father, thank You for saving me. I am available for Your good purposes.
