John 15:1: I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

Our Lord used a marvelous figure of speech, and He made it very clear that it is not your identification with a religion or a ceremony or an organization that is essential. We are to be identified with Christ! We are in Christ by the baptism of the Holy Spirit the moment we trust Christ as our Savior and are born again as a child of God. “My Father is the vinedresser.” This, too, is a startling word. In the Old Testament passages and in the parables, God is the owner of the vineyard. Here He is the keeper, the farmer, the One who takes care of the vineyard. Jesus is the genuine Vine, and the Father takes care of Him. Think how often the Father intervened to save Jesus from the Devil who wished to slay Him. The Father is the One who cared for the Vine, and He will care for the branches, too. The branches must be joined to the Vine. For what purpose? For fruit–bearing. 1

Your Word is Truth

Your place in life is to keep looking to the Vine. A branch can only survive if it is attached to the Vine. Are you trying to live life away from the Vine? If you are confused or uncertain about spiritual matters and life decisions, you must evaluate your place and position. You are a branch and you need the Vine. There is no other fruitful option.

For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. –1 Corinthians 3:9

You Alone are God

The way the Father cared for His Son is the way He will care for you. – TWEET IT

Your Will be Done

Lord, thank You for the fellowship that the Vine has with the fruit. Make me fruitful for You.
