John 20:28–29: And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Thomas’ response, My Lord and My God! is the high point of the Gospel. Here was a skeptical man, confronted by the evidence of Jesus’ resurrection. He announced that Jesus, the Man of Galilee, is God manifest in the flesh. Thus the truths in the first chapter were realized personally in this apostle. The Resurrection (a) demonstrated that what Jesus predicted about His being raised was true, (b) proved that Jesus is the Son of God, (c) testified to the success of His mission of salvation, (d) entitled Jesus to a position of glory, and (e) proclaimed that Jesus is the “Lord.” Jesus then pronounced a blessing on all who would come to faith without the help of a visible, bodily manifestation to them. This blessing comes to all who believe on the basis of the proclaimed gospel and the evidences for its validity. 1

Your Word is Truth

What a life-transforming day it was for Thomas when Jesus became more than the Crucified One. Jesus became the Resurrection and the Life for this uncertain disciple. Jesus presented all the evidence Thomas needed to proclaim Jesus as His God, Savior, and Lord. Are you still looking for more evidence to believe? What will it take to fully surrender everything to Him? All your hurt, pain, discouragement, resentment, fear, anxiety, ambition, unbelief, compromise, and the same struggle with the same sin? Please turn it all over to Him right now and let Him be your Lord in everything.

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” –Acts 2:36

You Alone are God

The greatest blessing is on those who have believing faith, not seeing faith. – TWEET IT

Your Will be Done

Lord, thank You for always being everything I need, as my Savior and my Lord.
