John 8:12: Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

There is, for our universe, only one sun; and it is the center and the source of life. So there is but one God who is the center of all and the source of all life. “God is light” and wherever the light shines, it reveals man’s wickedness. Our Lord’s I AM statement was also related to the Feast of Tabernacles, during which the huge candelabra were lighted in the temple at night to remind the people of the pillar of fire that had guided Israel in their wilderness journey. To “follow” the Lord Jesus means to believe on Him, to trust Him; and the results are life and light for the believer. The unsaved are walking in darkness because they love darkness. One of the major messages in this Gospel is that the spiritual light is now shining, but people cannot comprehend it—and they try to put it out. 1

Your Word is Truth

When you read His Word, His light illuminates your path. Does His light draw you out of your personal darkness, or do you continue to hide in your sin, and blame others? Your choice will bless or ruin your future. Come into His light and His love today.

And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. –John 3:19

You Alone are God

Your walk with God is determined by the amount of His light shining upon your life. – TWEET IT

Your Will be Done

Lord, thank You for rescuing me from the darkness of sin and death, and delivering me into Your marvelous light.
