Matthew 13:44: Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Once again, Old Testament symbolism assists us in our interpretation. The treasure is the nation of Israel (Ex. 19:5). That nation was placed in the world to bring glory to God, but it failed. It became a nation hidden, a treasure not being invested to produce dividends for God. Jesus Christ gave His all to purchase the whole world in order to save the nation (John 11:51). On the cross, Jesus died for the whole world; but in a special way, He died for Israel (Isa. 53:8). The nation suffered judgment and seeming destruction, but in God’s sight it is “hidden” and will be revealed again in glory. 1
Your Word is Truth
Guard your heart and mind against the anti-semitism that exists in our nation, in many churches, in many ministries, and throughout the world. It is satanic, and has existed since Genesis 12:1-3.
For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel for His special treasure. –Psalm 135:4

Your Will be Done
Lord, thank You choosing a people and a nation, and a future destination for You return.
