The Life and Ministry of Jesus

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Matthew 13:44

Once again, Old Testament symbolism assists us in our interpretation. The treasure is the nation of Israel (Ex. 19:5). That nation was placed in the world to bring glory to God, but it failed. It became a nation hidden, a treasure not being invested to produce dividends for God.

Jesus Christ gave His all to purchase the whole world in order to save the nation (John 11:51). On the cross, Jesus died for the whole world; but in a special way, He died for Israel (Isa. 53:8). The nation suffered judgment and seeming destruction, but in God’s sight it is “hidden” and will be revealed again in glory. 1

Personal Encouragement

Guard your heart and mind against the ant-semitism that exist in our nation, in many churches, in many ministries, and throughout the world. It is satanic, and has existed since Genesis 12:1-3.

For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel for His special treasure. Psalm 135:4

A heart against Israel is a heart against the sovereignty of God.

A Prayer

Lord, thank You choosing a people and a nation, and a future destination, for You return.
