FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 7:18: For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

Paul learned two things in this struggle, and they are something that many of us believers need to learn. “In me (that old nature we have been talking about) dwells no good thing.” Have you learned that? Have you found there is no good in you? Oh, how many of us Christians feel that we in the flesh can do something that will please God! Many believers who never find out otherwise become as busy as termites and are having about the same effect in many of our churches. They are busy as bees, but they aren’t making any honey! 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. Titus 3:3

Paul recognized that even as a believer, he had an indwelling principle of sin that once owned him as a slave, and that still expressed itself through him to do things he did not want to do and not to do things he desired to do. This is a problem common to all believers. But now we have the power of His Holy Spirit to overrule the power of the flesh. He will teach us how to be more than conquerors in Christ.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

When my flesh is weak in faith, my spirit is strengthened in His faithfulness. – TWEET IT

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:13

Dear Father, I surrender now to Your Lordship over my will…in Jesus’ name. Amen.
