FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 1:24: Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

One aspect of mankind’s corruption (to which God actively let people go) was sexual decadence. The frequency today only confirms this result of God’s abandonment. Sex within marriage is a holy gift from God, but otherwise sex is impurity (“uncleanness”) and the degrading of … bodies by using them contrary to God’s intent. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:18–20

Jesus, thank You for Your Holy Spirit. Your abiding presence has made this gutter-filled life into a holy temple. I am greatly humbled that You would dwell with such a person as my selfish-self. Forgive me for my carless thoughts and actions. Purify this temple from sinful pollution, and use it as a vessel of honor to glorify You, my King.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

Honoring God means fleeing from all sin, and holding fast only to Him. – TWEET IT

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22

Dear Father, there are things to flee and things to pursue. May I pursue You daily with a pure heart. Keep me in the marvelous light of Your holy word…in Jesus’ name. Amen.
