FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 8:2: For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

“The law of the Spirit” means not only a principle of law, but also the authority which is exercised by the Spirit. “The Spirit of life” means the Holy Spirit who brings life because He essentially is life. He is the Spirit of life. “In Christ Jesus” means that the Holy Spirit is in complete union with Christ Jesus. Because the believer shares the life of Christ, He liberates the believers. “The law of sin and death” is the authority that sin had over our old nature, ending in complete severance of fellowship with God. That new nature could not break the shackles at all. Only the coming of a higher authority and power could accomplish this, namely the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit operates upon the new nature, which is vitally joined to the life of Christ. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. John 8:36

The Holy Spirit is mentioned about 20 times in this chapter. The believer is now united with Christ through the indwelling presence of Christ. My old nature was in love with me. My new nature is in love with HIM. Therefore, there is a new battle inside of me. The new and the old are a war. But the new nature has a new power which is the Holy Spirit. If I yield to the Spirit of Life, I will experience a new victory, a daily victory of life over death. Liberated from the wretched battle. Set free. Free indeed!

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

The law of sin and death has been buried by the Spirit of life in Christ. – TWEET IT

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

Dear Father, open my heart, mind, and will to know You more…in Jesus’ name. Amen.
