FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 3:1–2: What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

The Jewish advantage, created a responsibility. Paul is making it clear that God not only gave to the nation Israel the oracles of God—they were the ones who communicated the Word of God—but in the Word of God was something special for them. God is not through with the nation Israel. I always test a theologian at that particular point: Does God have a future for Israel? My friend, if God doesn’t have a future for Israel, I don’t think He has a future for you either. All God’s promises are in the same Word of God. God is going to make good John 3:16, and God is also going to make good His covenant with Abraham in chapter 12 of Genesis. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies…1 Peter 4:11

Jesus, thank You for also giving me an advantage. You have forgiven all my sins. You have in-dwelt me with Your Holy Spirt. You have given me Your Holy Word. With these blessings come the responsibility of being faithful. Make me Your faithful servant.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

As followers of Jesus Christ, we out-advantage the world in all matters of life, because we have a certain future and a promised hope. – TWEET IT

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

That they may set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments. Psalm 78:7

Dear Father, thank You for every advantage, everyday…in Jesus’ name. Amen.
