FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 9:32–33: Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone. As it is written: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone, rock of offense, whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
No one will deny that there are many mysteries connected with divine sovereignty and human responsibility. Nowhere does God ask us to choose between these two truths, because they both come from God and are a part of God’s plan. They do not compete; they cooperate. The fact that we cannot fully understand how they work together does not deny the fact that they do. When a man asked Charles Spurgeon how he reconciled divine sovereignty and human responsibility, Spurgeon replied: “I never try to reconcile friends!” But the main thrust of this chapter is clear: Israel’s rejection of Christ does not deny the faithfulness of God. 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord’s doing, And it is marvelous in our eyes’? Matthew 21:42
Your Word reveals all we need to know about You. You are our Rock, our Cornerstone, and our returning King. You have done everything for us. Our eyes behold Your majesty and we marvel at such love and grace from our precious God and Savior.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God
…“Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” 1 Peter 2:6
Dear Father, thank You for being my Chief Cornerstone, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
