FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 1:28: And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting.
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
When man began to feel the tragic consequences of his sins, you would think he would repent and seek God; but just the opposite was true. Because he was abandoned by God, he could only become worse. Man did not even want to retain God in his knowledge! So, “God gave them over” this time to a “depraved mind,” which means a mind that cannot form right judgments. They now abandoned themselves to sin. Paul names twenty-four specific sins, all of which are with us today. 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
Yet they say to God, ‘Depart from us, For we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways. Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit do we have if we pray to Him?’ Job 21:14–15
Jesus, thank You for Your complete forgiveness and restoration of my mind, heart, and soul. How foolish to think that I could live one day outside the boundaries of Your love, mercy, grace, and truth. I do not want what the world is offering. What profit is there to gain the world and lose my fellowship with You? I want to have the mind of Christ. I fully surrender my will to know You and serve You, with all my heart.
FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God
To reject God is to willingly become a mindless and debased person. – TWEET IT
FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God
They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work. Titus 1:16
Dear Father, I want my profession of faith in You to be without compromise. I want to be an obedient servant, always ready to work for my King…in Jesus’ name. Amen.
