FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 1:19: What may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

One summer one of my associate pastors and I were walking home together on a particularly clear night. We looked at the North Star, the Big Dipper, the Pleiades. My fellow minister identified the Dog Star (Sirius), the brightest in both hemispheres. Then we began to joke about how all this happened “by chance.” The vastness and precision of our cosmos declares the necessity of a magnificent God! 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing. Isaiah 40:26

Jesus, thank You for designing such a magnificent universe. Everything is synchronized perfectly. There is not one random molecule in the entire solar system. You made it all and You sustain it all. And You made me. You know me. You love me. You redeemed me. You sustain me. You have prepared eternity for me. Your eyes are upon me. You will never leave me or forsake me. And You have invited me to have fellowship with You, the God of all creation! How marvelous. How wonderful.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

I am just a piece of clay that has been blood bought, and now welcomed before His throne of grace throughout eternity. – TWEET IT

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

He has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, And has stretched out the heavens at His discretion. Jeremiah 10:12

Dear Father, you are so big and mighty, and yet You are attentive to every need I bring before You. I will praise You and bless You forever…in Jesus’ name. Amen.
