FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 10:19–20: But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says: “I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation, I will move you to anger by a foolish nation.” But Isaiah is very bold and says: “I was found by those who did not seek Me; I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me.”
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
What marvelous grace! When Israel rejected her Messiah, God sent the Gospel to the Gentiles that they might be saved. The Jewish believers were shocked when Peter went to the Gentiles (Acts 11:1–18). But he explained that it was God who sent him and that it was clear to him that Jews and Gentiles were both saved the same way—by faith in Christ. But the opposition of the legalistic Jews was so great that the churches had to call a council to discuss the issue. The record of this council is given in Acts 15. Their conclusion was that Jews and Gentiles were all saved by faith in Christ. 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ To a nation not called by My name. Isaiah 65:1
How great is the grace of God? When you did not care about Him, He cared about you. He is always seeking you. You are never alone in your darkness and sin. He is there with you and for you. His lovingkindness is drawing you to Himself. Will you surrender? Will you receive His forgiveness for your sins? Will You get right with Him?
