FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 2:7–9: Eternal life is rendered to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

The man who wants to work for eternal life may do so. He will be judged according to his deeds, but he is warned that they will avail nothing. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into that lake of fire” (Rev. 20:15). Trusting Christ as Savior puts your name in the “book of life.” Eternal life is not a reward for effort; it is a gift to those who trust Christ. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

“There are those who rebel against the light; They do not know its ways Nor abide in its paths. Job 24:13

Jesus, please draw me out of the darkness and into Your glorious light. Steady my heart and give me a yielding spirit that is in love with You and Your Word. Make me into Your servant that listens and obeys and glorifies You…in all that I do. May I become known as a follower of Jesus, who is wholeheartedly His.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

Observe your habitual conduct, for it will reveal whether or not your heart has truly embraced the free gift of eternal life.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 1 Peter 4:17

Dear Father, deal with my sin. I repent. Purify my heart…in Jesus Name. Amen.
