FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 12:6: Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith.
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
“Gifts” is the Greek word charismata, which comes from the same stem as the word for grace. It can be translated as “grace” or “free gift” and is what the Spirit of God gives you. “Differing” means that the gifts differ. Every individual in the church has a gift. And the gift is part and parcel of the grace of God to us. When God saves you and puts you in the body of believers, you are to function. You are not to function as a machine, but as a member of a body, a living organization. When the gift is exercised, it is confirmed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Every believer needs to test his gift. Analyze your effectiveness: Are you really a blessing to folk? Are you building up the church? Or are you dividing the church? 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1 Peter 4:10
The gift God has given to you is to be used with grace. God makes a way for you to serve Him and His body. You do not force your way into a place or position of ministry. You allow His Holy Spirit to lead you. You will ether build up the body of Christ, with a yielding Spirit to Christ and His appointed leaders, or you will become obnoxious and self-serving, drawing attention to yourself, and not to Jesus. Examine your motives today.
FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God
Your gift will be a blessing or a curse. Fruitful or cancerous. You decide.
FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, Ephesians 4:11
Dear Father, please make me a prayer warrior on behalf of my pastor. Amen.
