FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 7:22–23: For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

The inward man may delight in the Law of God (Ps. 119:35), but the old nature delights in breaking the Law of God. No wonder the believer under Law becomes tired and discouraged, and eventually gives up! He is a captive, and his condition is “wretched.” (The Greek word indicates a person who is exhausted after a battle.) What could be more wretched than exerting all your energy to try to live a good life, only to discover that the best you do is still not good enough! 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, for I delight in it. Psalm 119:35

The commands of God are holy and righteous. It is His desire for us to walk with Him and for Him in this world. He has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. We must put on His armor, be filled with His Spirit, and empty our heart of selfish ambition and prideful pursuits. To fulfill His commands means we yield to His power and strength and His purposes, according the working of His Holy Spirit in us. Rejoice in the joy of being His vessel, for His honor, and for His glory.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

To serve Him fully is to surrender to Him completely.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16

Dear Father, strengthen my heart in Your love. Renew my mind in your truth. Allow me the joy of living for Your prepared purposes…in Jesus Name. Amen.
