FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 10:16: But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

Now Paul begins to show where the chain has broken. God has sent the messengers, the messengers have proclaimed the message, the Jews have heard the message, but they have not believed or called on the name of the Lord to be saved. Paul verifies this by a further appeal to scripture; this time the passage is from Isaiah 53:1.

In order to avoid confusion with messengers and those who bring good news, one may translate as “but not everyone has accepted the Good News” or “not everyone has believed the Good News.” In some languages the closest equivalent may be “but not everyone has received the Good News into his heart.” 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? Galatians 3:1

Whatever is keeping you from knowing and obeying the truth must be put away from you right now. Obedience in the right direction will never be regretted. Failure to obey is to become your own god, and there is nothing more dangerous.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

Not believing the gospel truth on earth, will have eternal consequences.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

“Who among you fears the Lord? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness And has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord And rely upon his God. Isaiah 50:10

Dear Father, may my heart always trust and obey You. In Jesus Name. Amen.
