FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 9:15–16: For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

God’s mercy is not extended as a recognition of human will, nor is it a reward of human work. Human–willing and human–working are not motivating causes of God’s actions. Man thinks that his decision and his effort cause God to look with favor upon him. Stifler states it succinctly when he says, “Willing and running may indicate the possession of grace, but they are not the originating cause.” God extends mercy, and He does it because he is God, my friend. Who are we to question Him? I bow before Him today. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

“I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ To a nation that was not called by My name. Isaiah 65:1

Shall we also bow before Him today? He sees all and He knows all. He knows the beginning from the end. He knows ruthless rulers and He knows merciful rulers. He knows what you are thinking and what you are struggling with. It is God who will show you mercy. He will give you what you do not deserve, and what you could never earn. Call out to Him. He wants you to receive His compassion during these desperate days.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

His merciful compassion is delivered right on time, because He knows you.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Phil 2:13

Dear Father, thank You for Your good work in me. I am always blessed by Your mercy.
