FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 10:1: Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
There was a time when Paul would have agreed with his people, for he himself opposed the Gospel and considered Jesus Christ an impostor. Israel considered the Gentiles in need of salvation, but certainly not the Jews. In several of His parables, Jesus pointed out this wrong attitude: the elder brother (Luke 15:11–32) and the Pharisee (Luke 18:9–14) are two examples. Israel would have been happy for political salvation from Rome, but she did not feel she needed spiritual salvation from her own sin. 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing! Luke 13:34
Is your heart moved when you hear the heart of Jesus for His people? Do you have that heart of love for your family and loved ones who are not walking with Jesus? How do you handle being rejected by the ones you love and serve and lay down your life for? Paul pressed on in prayer. Jesus taught us to pray. Pray. Then, keep praying.
FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God
The one who has received saving grace should be broken hearted in prayer for the one who needs saving grace.
FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God
To the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 1 Corinthians 9:22
Dear Father, thank You for teaching me how to be the person I need to be to reach the lost with Your saving grace. In Jesus Name, Amen.
