FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 6:10–11: For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

The attitude of mind that a believer has died to sin must be translated into action in his experience. Paul commanded, Therefore do not let sin reign (“do not let sin continue to reign”) as it did before salvation. “Stop letting sin reign.” When sin reigns in people’s lives and bodies, they obey its evil desires. Sin enslaves, making a person subject to his own desires. In your mortal body means that sin manifests itself through one’s physical actions in this body. The Greek here stresses that the body is mortal or dying. Perhaps this suggests the foolishness of giving in to the desires of a body that is transitory and decaying. To give in to a dying master is strange indeed. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 2 Corinthians 5:15

Thank You Jesus for Your sacrificial life and unconditional love for us. When You died on the cross, we were in Your heart. You were drawing us to Yourself with an everlasting love. You were laying Your life down for us. Now may we offer up our life to You for Your purposes and for Your glory. May we consider our old life dead.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

When we say goodbye to the self life, we say hello to the surrendered life.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21

Dear Father, I am praising You for declaring me righteous…in Jesus Name. Amen.
