FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 5:18: Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

The “one righteous act” was Christ’s death on the cross. One trespass (Adam’s sin) is contrasted with one righteous act (Christ’s sacrifice). The result of Adam’s sin (everyone under God’s condemnation) is contrasted with the result of Christ’s work (justification offered to all). One brought death; the other brings life. Once again the “all men” in the first half of the sentence includes the entire human race. The provision in the one righteous act, therefore, is potential and it comes to the entire human race as the offer and opportunity which are applied only to “those who receive.” 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:22

Jesus, thank You the powerful consequence of Your sacrificial love on the cross. You died so humanity could live. You corrected the consequences of Adam’s sin. Our future was hopelessly lost in darkness and death. But God changed everything over one weekend. Your death, burial, and resurrection released us from prison. Our life is now hidden in His life. We have gone from prison to praise. Hallelujah! Thank You Jesus. May we be compelled to proclaim this great news everyday.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

He died for us, so we could rise with Him.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” John 12:32

Dear Father, thank You for drawing Me to Yourself, through Your wondrous love on the Cross…in Jesus Name. Amen.
