FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 1:17: For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
The gospel makes known a righteousness. While God is a just and holy God, and we are guilty sinners, it is necessary we should have a righteousness if we are to appear before Him; and, blessed be God, there is such a righteousness. A righteousness, that is, a gracious method of reconciliation. It is called the righteousness of God; it is of God’s appointing, of God’s approving, and of God’s accepting. It is said to be from faith to faith, from the faithfulness of God, and not by our works or merit. 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
“Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:4
Jesus, thank You for Your justification over my sin-laden soul. I deserved eternal death, but You saved me for eternal life. I was lost in sinful darkness, but You drew me into Your marvelous light. I was faithless, but You were faithful. You supplied me the grace and the faith to believe. By faith, I received Your gift of salvation. With that same faith that saved, I now live a life of faith, through the gracious, unfailing love of Jesus Christ.
FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God
I was wrong, but He made me right, by His righteous.
FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God
To be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith. Philippians 3:9
Dear Father, You found me. Now I can be found in You. Teach me how to live a life of faith through Your righteous work and not my own…in Jesus name. Amen.
